I was the third employee and first marketing leader at a high-growth B2B SaaS company, Lessonly, and helped scale the business over 5 years focusing on demand generation. In that role, I knew I needed to start and scale the most repeatable demand channels or we’d never reach our goals.

Eventually, it felt like time to put a little work into organic. I did what I knew best, created a Demand Page, optimized it for SEO, and within the first week, that page generated over 100 leads. And that page kept generating dozens of leads each week after that, even today!
In that role, I eventually proved out what I knew to be true all along, but briefly ignored, organic search should be the number one channel for growth at B2B SaaS companies.

Unfortunately, that’s now proven to be the norm. A recent study by Ahrefs found that 91% of all pages on the web get zero organic traffic. ZERO! They looked at a billion pages, so 910 million pages were created by human beings and were absolutely missed.
